Veterans, emergency personnel and local citizens gathered in rainy conditions on Friday for the annual September 11 pledge of allegiance. Held at the Waverly Community House, the event featured a flag ceremony as well as a rendition of taps. The ceremony is designed to commemorate the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001, while also paying tribute to all current and former military personnel.
