The Lackawanna Branch Pennsylvania Association for the Blind (PAB) in coordination with a proclamation from the Office of Governor Ed Rendell, is establishing Oct. 12 through 18 as White Cane Safety Week.
For those with visual impairment, the white cane offers the great blessing of freedom of movement and self reliance, but it takes total concentration to walk safely with a white cane.
The Lackawanna Branch PAB is a private, nonprofit, charitable organization founded in 1912 for the purpose of preventing, preparing for and managing vision loss.
