Elnora Mae Cavanaugh Zezeski, 83, Justus, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, in VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center. Married 40 years, she was the widow of Walter Zezeski who died September 19, 2008.
She was born in Scranton on February 2, 1925, daughter of the late Elizabeth Mae and Leo Cavanaugh. Prior to retirement, she was employed with her daughters and son-in-law at Everything Natural in Clarks Summit. Previously she had worked many years as a waitress at the Castle Restaurant. She was dedicated to her family, inspiring them with the depth of her love, her honesty and generosity. She will be remembered for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She loved her flower gardens and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters: Donna Kaplan and her husband Barry, Tunkhannock; Sandra Materna and her husband Albert, Justus; Michele Cooper and her husband Paul, Clarks Summit; and Margaret (Molly) Shook and her husband Douglas, Glenburn; three sons: Michael and his wife Deborah, Reisterstown, MD; Joseph and his wife Jennifer; Patrick and his wife Maria, all of Scranton; her best friend and sister-in-law Margaret (Molly) Cavanaugh; 15 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of VNA Hospice for their incredible sensitivity and compassionate care.
