Pepper Hamilton, LLP announced that Ivan B. Knauer, a former SEC enforcement lawyer and, most recently, Vice President and Managing Trial Counsel for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA), has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Washington office.
Knauer, a 1979 graduate of Abington Heights High School, focuses his practice on securities litigation, securities enforcement and general commercial litigation. He represents public companies, broker-dealers, investment companies, investment advisers and individuals in class actions and arbitrations, and in enforcement matters brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA and other regulatory bodies. Knauer was previously was a partner with Pepper from 2003 until 2005, when he left to join Bingham McCutchen and then, subsequently, FINRA (successor to NASD, Inc. and NYSE Regulation, Inc.), where he was Vice President and Managing Trial Counsel before his departure in January 2008. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983, and law degree from New York University School of Law in 1989. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Massachusetts and New York.
