The 5th grade class of Mayfield Elementary School graduates from the anti-drug program Drugs Abuse Resistance Education, also known as D.A.R.E. The graduation program includes essay readings from 5th grade contest winners and certificates and awards from Joseph Perechinsky, D.A.R.E. Officer and Chief of the Mayfield Police Dept. Essay contest winners with their DARE certificates and plush toy of D.A.R.E. mascot, Daren the Lion, are shown, from left: Brooke Thomas, Adrianna Vilgos, Karlee Vaverchak, Kerri Armstrong, Chief Joseph Perechinsky, Bella Tratthen, Connie Taylor, Jesse Parks, Cameron Bullet and Nick Catanzaro. All reside in Mayfield. They wrote essays promising not to abuse drugs.
