Cleanups set for March, April

First Posted: 3/19/2008

Weekend cleanups have been set for March 29 and 30 and April 5 and 6 at the Genesis Wildlife Sanctuary in Nay Aug Park, a non-profit organization. Genesis is home to exotic and endangered animals that either were rescued from owners who acquired them illegally; were no longer wanted by zoos because of their age or health, or were captured by the PA Game Commission. The Answering the Call of the Wild project was developed by members of the 2008 class of Leadership Lackawanna to benefit the Sanctuary. The primary goals of this project include promoting awareness of the mission of the sanctuary, organizing on-site cleanups and raising money for food and supplies. To volunteer, call Desiree Ranella at 342-7711 ext. 127.
