Peggy D. Harris, Scranton, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Monday, Feb. 25, after a short illness, She was the widow of Mahlon H. Harris, who died in March of 2007.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Alan E. and Magdolyn James Davis. Prior to retirement, she was a substitute coordinator for the Abington Heights School District as well as working with the Scranton Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. She was very active in the P.T.A., a founding member of the Abington Heights Band Boosters, and the past president of the Abington Age Group Swim Team. She enjoyed her summers at Lake Winola. Surviving are a son, Alan M., and his wife, Nicole, Clarks Summit; a daughter Gwenlyn H. Kish, and her husband, Michael, Scranton; four granddaughters, Kaydee, Brittany, Maylynn, and Emily. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gwendolyn Davis. A memorial service was to be held on Thursday, Feb. 28 from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. To sign the online guest book, go to
