Presented with the R. Matthew Burne Lifetime of Service Award for 2008, Marge Black was honored at a ceremony on November 6. The Abington Journal and community members came out at 6 p.m. to honor Black. The event was held at The Inn at Nichols Village, in Clark Summit. The award is sponsored by the Burne family in memory of Matt Burne, the first recipient of the award. The Burne family donated $1,000 at request of Marge Black to the charity of her choice: The Waverly Community House.
