Mable Parker, 89, of Factoryville, died Monday, Dec. 24 at home. She was the widow of David J. Parker, who died in December 2004.
Born in Park River, ND, she was a registered nurse and served in the Army during World War II. Mable served in Alaska, where she met her husband, who was from Scranton and was also stationed there. Mable and Dave made their home in Clarks Summit for 57 years, where they raised their seven children. Mable loved to travel and garden and was a member of the Happy Hearts Senior Club, of Factoryville.
Surviving are five daughters, Patricia Stark, Allentown; Karen McCoale and husband, William, Wilson; Shirley Staffaroni and husband, Tom, Factoryville; Nancy Oslin and husband, Tim, Boardman, Ohio; and Lily Erdman and husband, Jerry, Bel Air, MD; a son, Art Parker, Honolulu; 13 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David A. Parker.
There will be a private service and burial at Indiantown Gap Veterans National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
