Volunteers of the American Cancer Society (ACS) have organized a high end basket raffle to also support the 35th annual Daffodil Days in Lackawanna County. Chances for the baskets are priced at two for $1 or 12 chances for $5. The Viewmont Mall will feature 40 baskets on February 7, 8 and 9. Another raffle with 40 different baskets begins at The Mall at Steamtown on Wednesday, Feb. 14 and runs up to Feb. 16.
Raffle sales will take place during mall hours. A winner will be drawn on the final day of each raffle, and does not need to be present to win; they will be contacted. Baskets themes vary from Burberry scarves, spa baskets, lottery tickets, and Penguins tickets to mp3 player and more.
Money raised will allow the ACS to provide services to local cancer patients, including reimbursement for medication and transportation, a 24 -hour information and referral line, educational materials, one on one support and more.
Anyone interested in volunteering or donating a basket can contact Robin Green at 343-4334 extension 5072.
