The 6th annual Triathlon in Wyalusing is set for the Columbus Day weekend. The event is sponsored by the Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce with volunteer staff. The Triathlon begins Saturday morning, October 11 in downtown Wyalusing.
Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. in the Community Building at 121 Main Street. Participants may do the online form available at or stop in the Chamber of Commerce office.
Featured in the North Branch Triathlon will be a 4.5-mile run starting on Bridge Street in Downtown Wyalusing. Orientation will starts at 8:30. The course is mostly flat as it heads up to Terrytown, where the transition to paddling happens at the PA Fish and Boat access point. The paddlers head downstream 4.6 miles to Sugar Run where they finish at the Endless Mountains Outfitters. The final leg of the event has the bicyclists heading out Route 187 to Stowell, where they do U-turn and head back to the finish line at the Wyalusing Valley High School. The awards ceremony will be in town as in previous years at 1:30 p.m. in the community building on Main Street. For information about the Triathlon, contact the GWCC at570-746-4922.
