Arthur William Logan, 86, of Clarks Summit, died Thursday, July 10, at home. His wife, Shirley Mae Logan, died Dec. 7, 2001. The couple was married for more than 40 years.
Born Jan. 17, 1922, in Dunmore, son of the late Thomas M. and Gertrude Miller Logan, he was a Clarks Summit resident since 2002 and was formerly of Oakfield, NY. A graduate of Dalton High School, he served in the Marine Corps during World War II. Before retirement, he worked as a security guard for Eagle Detective Agency and was formerly employed by Dairylea Dairy, Scranton, for 33 years. He was a member of Parker Hill Community Church, the Abington Senior Center and VFW Abington Memorial Post 7069. Art loved pets and enjoyed woodworking and crafting.
Surviving are a son, Donald Logan, with whom he resided, Clarks Summit; two daughters, Judith Ann Johndrow, Clarks Summit and Debra Sue Reynolds, Factoryville; two brothers, Tom Logan, Dalton and Jack Logan, Tunkhannock; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janette Allen; and two brothers, Wilmer T. and Robert F. Logan.
A memorial service was held at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Mark Stuenzi, pastor of Parker Hill Community Church, Clarks Green. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
