The Abington Youth Soccer League (AYSL) is taking late registration for fall youth soccer players by mail. Registration forms are available at eteamz.com/aysl. Click on HANDOUTS on the left and print the 2008 Registration form, complete it and mail it in with payment.
New players should send a copy of their birth certificate. Registration may also be done along with equipment purchase, every on August 8, 15 and 22 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the shed at the Stroney Field at the Abington Area Community Park at the State Hospital.
Boys and girls born between 8/1/89 and 7/31/04 are eligible to play this fall. The league is open to all, there is no residency requirement. The registration fee is $35. Returning players pay a late registration fee of $45 if they register after 5/31. Payment by mail will only be taken for registration. AYSL equipment (shirts, shinguards and socks) will be available for purchase on the dates listed on the registration form at the Stroney Field at the Abington Area Community Park by the State Hospital.
AYSL is a recreation soccer league with the focus being on the fun of playing the game, great exercise and making friends. All players are guaranteed to play at least half of each game with games on Saturdays plus some weekday games at the end of the season.
Last year almost 1,200 players participated and parental involvement is needed to get teams organized and keep things fun. For more information on registration, send an email or call Jim at 586-0589 or Mike at586-2147. League web site is eteamz.com/AYSL.
