George John Puhlik, 76, Clarks Summit died Friday, June 25, at the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his companion of many years Dorothy Radkiewicz.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Peter and Julie Puhlik. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School. He was employed by Chamberlain and General Dynamics prior to his retirement. He served in the United States Army and was an avid fan of football and baseball and loved traveling to county fairs. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Dunmore.
Surviving are his niece Shirley Gallagher; three nephews, Paul Sekol, David and Eugene.
He was preceded in death by his brother John Puhlik.
A special thank you to the Leonard DeRigge family, Scott Gardner and Nora Hinkley for their kindness giving through the years to George and also to the VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center for the loving care they provided for him and also his many companions at Community Medical Center who kept him company.
The funeral was to be June 29 from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 s. State St., Clarks Summit with mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment will be All Saints Cemetery in Hollisterville.
