Aaron Fleming, a sophomore at Abington Heights High School, from Troop 160 in Clarks Summit, recently conducted his Eagle Scout Project,to oversee his fellow scouts and volunteers who conducted oral histories of local Army war veterans. This data was then sent to the Army Heritage and Education Center at the Army War College in Carlisle, for inclusion in their Veteran Oral History Collection. The interviews were audio and video taped so that copies could be sent to local libraries for their reference libraries. Veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam participated in the project that took place at Lackawanna College.
This project was done in memory of his grandfather, Rudolph Petrina, a WWII veteran who recently passed away. Fleming is shown with Judge Tom Munley, who participated in the project.
