Delma G. Kliewer, 88, Dalton, formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., died Monday, Nov. 1, at Abington Manor Nursing Home in Clarks Summit. She was the widow of the late Lawayne P. Kliewer, who died in 2000.
Born in Susquehanna, daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Williams Lent, she was a member of the Summit Baptist Bible Church, Clarks Summit, and former member of the First Baptist Church, Johnson City, N.Y.
Delma was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and epically enjoying special times with family and friends. Most of all, she loved serving her savior, Jesus Christ, and was very involved in singing in the church choir, ladies and group Bible studies and many other church activities.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Abington Manor for the loving, compassionate care for Delma during the past two years.
Surviving are four sons, David P. Kliewer, New Milford; Jan W. Kliewer, Binghamton, N.Y.; Steven M. Kliemer, and his wife, Amy, Tacoma, Wash.; and Lee D. Kliewer, and his wife, Colleen, Dalton; a daughter, Bonnie L. McCall, and her husband, Don, Dalton; a sister, Rhoda Sheffer, and her husband, Vern, Sarasota, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, several great -grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, LeAnne J. Kliewer, and a daughter-in-law, Gladys Kliewer.
The funeral was to be Nov. 6 from the Summit Baptist Bible Church Nobel Rd., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Frank Passetti, associate pastor. Interment will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery, Binghamton, N.Y.
