Representatives of Jomar 2008 LLC attended the Ransom Township Board of Supervisors meeting April 7 to discuss plans for the subdivision of property on Newton Ransom Blvd. and Port Royal Rd.

The subdivision plans were granted approval at the Feb. 3 meeting and given three stipulations: review and approval by the Lackawanna County Planning Commission, Newton Township’s review and approval regarding the portion of the parcel which crosses its municipal line and the obtaining of a highway occupancy permit. The property owner and potential buyers attended the meeting with questions and comments regarding the occupancy permit.

A conclusion was not reached during the meeting, however, and the Jomar representatives agreed to meet with the township officials in the office area following adjournment.

The supervisors also briefly discussed the Spring Cleanup, to be held April 25 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and April 26 from 7 a.m. to noon. No tires and no closed paint cans will be accepted. Dumpsters will be in Milwaukee on Hickory Ln. and in Mount Dewey at same location. Identification may be required.

The next regular township supervisors meeting is scheduled for May 5, at 7 p.m. in the municipal building on Hickory Lane.
