Lillian Emma Slack Hilson, 89, of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday, Jan. 6 in Moses Taylor Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph J. Hilson, who died Aug. 25, 1971. Her first husband, William T. Condie I, died Dec. 2, 1991.
Born July 9, 1920, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Edith Shoener Slack. A resident of Clarks Summit since 1991, she formerly lived in Factoryville. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was a member of the Factoryville United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women, the Abington Senior Center, where she was the sunshine person, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 375.
Surviving are a son, Gordon Thomas Condie, Binghamton, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Laura Condie, Binghamton, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Scott Condie and wife, Ginger; Debbie Rappolt and husband, Chris; Bruce Condie and wife, Kristin; Jason Condie and wife, Shianne; and Amanda Condie, all of N.Y.; a stepgrandson, Joseph Hilson, Scranton; and three stepgranddaughters, Debbra Schrade, Galveston, TX; Nancy Stange, Scranton; and Sandra Oakley, Harveys Lake.
She was also preceded in death by a son, William T. Condie, on Feb. 26, 2001; two brothers, Charles and Claude Slack; and a stepson, Joseph Hilson.
The funeral was to be Jan. 9 at noon in the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Brian Lucas, pastor of Factoryville United Methodist Church. Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp. Memorials may go to the American Heart Association, 71 N.
