What you will need: A white piece of paper; paint, markers or crayons (preferably red, white and blue); scissors; tape; an eight-inch piece of yarn and a pencil.

Instructions: Start with a white piece of paper and hold it lengthwise across. Using your pencil, draw a soft line across your paper that are approximately 4 inches down from the top. Decorate the top using paint, markers or crayons. You can use patriotic symbols such as flags and stars or draw fireworks for the Fourth of July. If you want to make some stripes or different colored lines on the bottom, it will add color to your finished project.

The next step is to cut strips from the bottom up to the line that goes across your paper. Keeping the decorated side facing out, roll the paper so the sides are touching and tape from the inside. Then tape each end of the yarn across from each other at the top so you can hang your windsock.
