Jorge L. Coronel, of Clarks Summit, has been named to Board of Trustees of Lackawanna College, announced Board Chairman G. Richard Thompson. Coronel is an entrepreneur and information and business consultant.
Coronel is President and founder of Coronel Management Group, Inc., (CMGI) an umbrella management organization to operate various internet businesses. Within CMGI , Coronel has founded Internet Innovations Group, an Internet services business specializing in database-driven web site applications, software development, networking, system integration, professional design and marketing services; Workforce Builder, a hosted job portal solution for regional workforce development and Hispanic Resources Network, a national network of regional web site portals, people networks and cultural competency services.
A native of Mexico, Coronel earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Penn State University and has completed much of his graduate work for an MBA from the University of Scranton. He is active in the community and the state, participating as a coach for the Abington Little League and the Youth Soccer League and serving on the boards and committees of a number of organizations. A member of the Luzerne County Diversity Task Force, Coronel also participates in international and diversity-related initiatives.
Coronel is one of five new members appointed to the Board. The others are Richard Grimm, Joseph F. Kissel, Nicholas H. Niles and Timothy Warfield.
