Mayor Aaron Holzman outlined the details of the town’s new website, www.daltonpa.webs.com, during the Dalton Council meeting on June 12.
“It’s still under construction, but you can pull it up and see the general idea of it,” he said. “The homepage is a bulletin board type of page.”
Holzman said the website’s homepage has hyperlinks and includes borough information and contacts. The website, which is still a rough draft, was created by Scranton Prep student, Eric Muchisky, Holzman said.
“We’re going to work more on it,” he said. “Once we get it done, the idea will be to show secretary Joanne (Davies) how to go in and change things so that she can update garbage pickups, this and that.”
Holzman said the website is free for now, but Dalton will look to charge money in the future once the site becomes more professional-looking.
In other business, board member Bill Salva, in his public works report, announced the paving of the roads, in which Council is receiving bids, will be covered through the highway fund aid.
“Joanne (Davies) was kind enough to provide the policies and procedures,” he said. “It looks like everything we’ve done so far and what we’re planning on doing will be covered by the highway aid fund.”
Salva said he and Davies will look at getting more money from the Mumble Transportation Fund.
“We’re going to investigate whether we can look for more money from them,” he said.
Salva also announced that he had a meeting with two people from DPW (Department of Public Works), who asked Salva if Council can hire a part-time worker to help with the lawn care of the parks in Dalton. The council ultimately settled on Dale Richmond, who has done work for Dalton in the past.
