Mildred R. LaCoe, Newton Twp., died Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the VNA Hospice Unit in Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Melvin J. Lacoe, who died in October of 1999.
Daughter of the late Albert Davis Sr. and Sarah Jones Davis, she was a resident of Newton Twp. For more than 50 years. Prior to retirement she was employed with AKZO Salt Co., Clarks Summit.
Mildred was a woman of protestant faith and loved her family with all of her heart.
Surviving are a daughter, Sylvia J. Gilpin and her husband, Melvin, Dalton; a son, Jeffery, Newton Twp.; a sister, Thelma Jayne and her husband, Glenn, Clarks Summit; grandsons, Robert, Jeffery and Garry; granddaughters, Christine, Julie, Kelly, Jamie and Holly; and great- grandchildren, Bobby, Coby, Ryan and Erin; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Davis Jr., and a sister, Blodwen Woolever
A funeral service was held on Nov. 16 at 11a.m. from the Lawrence E Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Norman T. Faux. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery.
