Allied Services dePaul School in Scranton will be conducting free dyslexia screenings for children in grades 1 to4 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, May 19 and Saturday, June 9. dePaul is the only school in Northeastern Pennsylvania devoted exclusively to teaching students with dyslexia how to learn. Parents who have children experiencing difficulty reading, spelling and writing sentences, despite normal intelligence and motivation, should call 341-4398 to schedule a screening. Shown are Dr. John Harvey and Principal Suzanne Rickard, who will conduct the screenings. Nearly 10 percent of children have dyslexia.
