Donald R. Smith, 72, Kingsley, died Friday, Sept. 14 at his home. He was the widower of Erika Smith.
He was born, July 29, 1935 in Phillipsburg, NJ, the son of the late Harold A. and Katherine Krumm Smith. Prior to retirement he was a Post Master serving under the Post Master General of the United States of America.
He was a Veteran of the Korean War, a 32nd degree Mason as well as a Shriner. He also belonged to the VFW, and the Elks. He was a conservationist and a historian. Surviving are a son, Brian D. Smith and his wife Tina, Lords Valley; a daughter, Diane K. Smith, Jacksonville, FL; sisters Karen E. Perry, Minnesota and Kerry P. Hudson, NJ; a brother, Jeffrey Smith, Harrisburg; grandchildren, Erika Lowery, Alexa Timmons of Jacksonville, FL, Jeffrey and Brittany Smith of Lords Valley. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service was held Saturday Sept. 22. Arrangements by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
