The Christmas Holiday Bureau officially opened Monday, Nov. 12 for the scheduling of appointments. The Voluntary Action Center, a United Way Member Agency, has been providing holiday assistance to individuals and families since 1972. The phones lines will be available through November 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Interviews will be conducted in Scranton and Carbondale from November 26 to December 7. Wal-Mart gift cards will once again be distributed to eligible applicants for holiday assistance.
