Allied Services Jack Newman Golf Classic held

Allied Services held its annual Jack Newman Golf Classic at the Country Club of Scranton in July. Shown above, from left, are: Tournament co-chair Bob Ames, AVP Allied Vocational Services, with winning team representatives Dave Sanders, Burkavage Design Associates and Dan Totsky, UGI Utilities; honored event guest Patrick Valonis, Allied Vocational employee who was the 2006 recipient of the Pennsylvania Industries for the Blind and Handicapped award for accomplishment; and Joan Newman, wife of the late Jack Newman. Jack Newman was the former Allied Services President and the founding V.I.S.T.A.S. Allied Volunteer President. Annually, the tournament proceeds benefit the Jack and Joan Newman Endowment at Allied Services for Vocational programs and services. More than $45,000 in net proceeds was raised for the endowment from the 2007 event.
