Nancy Saxton, Clarks Summit, died Thursday, Oct. 18. Her husband, J. Niles Saxton, is originally from Syracuse, N.Y.
Born in White Plains, N.Y. she was the daughter of Jennie and Raffaele Nicoletti and was educated in the public school system. As a high school student, her talent for communications, especially writing press releases, was noted and acknowledged by respective teachers.
She married J. Niles Saxton and they lived in Greenwich, CT for a number of years. During that time she worked in marketing and public relations, as well as created a line of unique gift items which she sold extensively in Northeast PA. This familiarity with the Abington area prompted Nancy and Niles to move to Clarks Summit in 2000.
As a community volunteer, Nancy excelled in creating and founding a venue for enlightening the public of various topics that she felt were beneficial. This outlet, Community Active Partners, also became a forum for a highly respected television program that has been airing on Scranton Today (Channels 61 and 62) for the past five years.
She will be greatly missed by many who knew and loved her, including her family and Lori, her beloved Siberian Husky. She is survived by her husband and sister, Ann Nicoletti.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on October 19 from Our Lady of the Snows Church, S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Clarks Green Cemetery.
