CLARKS SUMMIT — The Abington Heights High School Forensics Team advanced to the Round of 32 in the International Public Policy Forum Debate sponsored by The Bickel and Brewer Foundation and New York University.
Team members include Alex Fried, Richard Ling and Ben Oon.
The team defeated Notre Dame High School of Sherman Oaks, California, and will now compete against Union High School of Camas, Washington.
It will participate in a written debate over the next month, with the Sweet 16 winners being announced Feb. 12.
If the team continues to succeed and makes it to the Top 8, the students will travel to New York City to participate in face-to-face rounds in May.
