DALTON — Spring has finally sprung in Northeast Pennsylvania. The weather is getting warmer; therefore, everything is starting to grow, including herbs and perennials. This is the time in which a local group has a special sale at the Dalton Fire Hall.
Friends of the Dalton Community Library will have their sixth annual Herb & Perennial Sale at the Dalton Fire Hall from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 16. The group purchases herbs from a local grower from Falls Township and includes an assortment of perennials and edible herbs, such as parsley, sage, and thyme, in its annual sale
Penn State Extension Master Gardeners and a representative from O’Hara Tree Service will be present to answer questions. There will also be donated gardening books available.
Proceeds from this sale will go to the Dalton Community Library.
The Herb & Perennial Sale will be on the same day as Dalton’s 2-mile long yard sale on North Turnpike Road. People who attend the yard sale can stop in the Dalton Fire Hall to either buy a plant or learn about the art of gardening.
“We’ve had a wonderful community response in the past,” said Mary Hart, member of Friends of the Dalton Community Library.
