TUNKHANNOCK — Eagles. Moose. Elk. Ducks. Owls.

These and other wild creatures and scenic byways are captured by local photographers Joan and Jim Borden.

Together, they avidly pursued their passion by photographing the natural world in northeast United States and Canada, including Pennsylvania, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire and now their photographs are on display through the end of March at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock.

When asked about their favorite photographic shoot, they both agreed that capturing moose in Maine has been the most exciting. Navigating remote streams by kayak and being able to get really close to the moose was a highlight of their photographic forays. Regionally, a favorite spot of theirs is Lake Carey in winter before the ice melts, a habitat rich with sightings of eagles, owls and small birds.

The exhibit at the Dietrich is open to the public whenever movies are shown or by appointment. For information, call 570-996-1500.,
