SHICKSHINNY — Eliza Pierson, 69, a resident of Shickshinny, died Feb. 17, 2014, at Celtic Health Care Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. She had family in Tunkhannock. SCRANTON — Claire M. Longo, formerly of the Tripp Park Section of Scranton and Vestal, N.Y., died Feb. 18, 2014, at Celtic Health Care Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes Barre, following an illness. She had family in Clarks Summit. The funeral was held Feb. 22 from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton.

WILKES-BARRE — Mrs. Josephine C. Gorka, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She had family in Clarks Summit. Funeral services were held Feb. 25 from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.

MESHOPPEN — Lena “Faye” Oakes, 71, of 4030 Upper Meshoppen Creek Road, Meshoppen, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, where she had been taken earlier in the week. She had family in Tunkhannock. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 from the Sheldon Funeral Home, state Route 6, Meshoppen.
