Keystone College and Lackawanna County received one of 59 Our Town grants awarded nationally by the National Endowment of the Arts. The $25,000 grant funds the creation and placement of iron sculptures along the Lackawanna Heritage Valley (LHV) trail system throughout Lackawanna County.

The iron sculpture, “Balance,” created by visiting artist Vaughn Randall was unveiled for the first time at the LHV trail near downtown Scranton.

The Our Town grant also supports the Keystone Iron Works program, which brings selected high school students on campus each June to participate in iron pour workshops at the Keystone art studios. After the workshops, the students pour hot molten iron into molds during the Arts on Fire Festival at the Scranton Iron Furnaces in downtown Scranton.
