For the first time in the program’s history, Keystone College’s women’s soccer team has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for posting a 3.0 or higher team grade point average.

The Giants earned a 3.16 grade point average to be one of 862 total soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) to earn the award for the 2012-13 academic year.

Keystone’s women’s soccer team enjoyed success both on and off the field this year. In addition to the award, the Giants posted their best season since the team began competition at the NCAA Division III level this fall, going 10-5-1 overall under third-year head coach Noel Cox. The Giants narrowly missed out on a berth in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs after posting a 5-5-1 record in league play.

Keystone was one of five CSAC institutions to earn the women’s team award joining Baptist Bible College, Centenary College, Immaculata University and Marywood University.
