The Clarks Green Borough got some good news during its monthly council meeting on June 18. The 2013 audit came back clean, according to Michael Dougherty, a principal in the accounting firm, Murphy Dougherty in Moscow.

“That’s exceptional for a borough our size,” Clarks Green Borough President, Dave Rinaldi said in a phone interview on June 20.

In other news, the borough building will be handicap accessible when Stanley Technologies installs automated doors on July 2.

The Department of Environmental Protection contacted the borough to inform them that they were in violation of MS4, which deals with storm water. The first violation, according to the letter, deals with storm water collecting and the second violation is that borough isn’t informing the residents about storm water precautions. An example would be washing a car on the grass and not on the driveway.

Rinaldi said the borough will reach out to the DPA and will try to resolve any major issues, while also being economic.

“We will be complying to the extent that’s possible,” Rinaldi said.
