Last summer, I worked as one of the environment counselors at the Abington Area Joint Recreation Board Earth Camp at Hillside Park. I am writing to inform members of the local community to take advantage of this educational, affordable, and enjoyable camp. It is a wonderful way for students to make new friends, experience the outdoors, and have fun. Earth Camp has been offering these student-centered enrichment experiences for the past six years and will continue this summer at Hillside Park.

During the month of July (July 1 – 30) middle school students entering fifth, sixth, or seventh grade will have the opportunity to participate in this fantastic program. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and will include exciting activities that focus on art, environment, and health.

This year, Emily Rinaldi will serve as Director and will be assisted by counselors: Brandon Tufano, Colleen Kuzma, Joseph Devine, Justin Collins, and Steve Colger.

This camp would not be possible without all of the professional staff’s dedication and the support from parents, the local community, and generous grants sponsored by AEIO and You and Pennsylvania American Water. Please visit http://www.hillsidepark.net/earth-camp-2014/ for an informational flier and registration form and be sure to take advantage of this wonderful summer event.
