Flavored rice pudding sundae shooters with whipped toppings will be one item on the menu at the Rotary Club of the Abingtons’ 10th Annual Taste of the Abingtons event Sept. 14, thanks to Old Milwaukee Cafe and Bakery, which will participate for the first time this year.
Held at the Nichols Village Hotel and Spa, 1101 Northern Boulevard, Clarks Summit, from 5 to 8 p.m., Taste of the Abingtons benefits various local Rotary projects.
The fundraiser features dozens of local restaurants and eateries, providing specialty food items, as well as wine, beer and cigars, under one roof. (The cigar tasting will be held in a separate enclosed area.) Attendees are given the opportunity to sample food, enjoy entertainment and mingle with family and friends.
Old Milwaukee Cafe and Bakery, 2613 Milwaukee Road, Clarks Summit, which celebrated its first anniversary April 8, is a small family-oriented business which offers cakes and baked goods for all occasions, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

“We like to go old-fashioned and bring back some of the old stuff around here,” said pastry chef Sue Richter.
She said the busines is “really excited” about the event, and always willing to help the community.
Taste of the Abingtons tickets are $25 and can be purchased from any Rotary Club of the Abingtons member, by calling the event chairman John Regula at 570-586-6931 or in person at Peoples Security and Trust’s Clarks Summit location, Nichols Village Hotel and Spa or Everything Natural.
