What an exciting summer we’re having at the Dalton Community Library! We’ve kept our children and adult groups busy, and everyone is enjoying the fun.

Our Summer Reading Program has been extremely successful this year with close to 100 registered. The program ended Saturday, Aug. 2. All children who’ve kept a reading log should complete it by this date. And don’t forget to collect your well-earned prizes. They can be retrieved any time before returning to school.

We’ll be having an end of summer party for the children who’ve been involved in our weekly activities. We are happy to have the Everhart Museum coming to our party to provide an activity. Also from the Everhart Museum will be a “shark” themed art display at our library during August. Stop in to see all the local artwork. For any details or questions you may have, please call the library at 570-563-2014.

This summer we’ve seen a lot of new faces at our events. The adult programs have had new members, and our children’s programs have had participants from areas near and far. It’s been nice meeting so many new people and sharing some fun during the library’s activities.

Since August is sure to fly by, I’d like to thank all the families who have been active and loyal at our library this summer. The dedication of so many people keep our programs successful, but the friendships, smiles and laughter make them enjoyable.

Best wishes to all our kids and teachers who will be returning to school this month. It’s been a fantastic summer and I’m honored that so many people have shared their time with us at the Dalton Community Library.
