Hiking Update with Jeff Mitchell, Feb. 1 at the Dietrich Theater in downtown Tunkhannock, 11 a.m. Mitchell will give an updated photographic PowerPoint presentation, featuring glimpses of his hiking experiences discovering mountain and stream panoramas, seldom seen flora and fauna, and waterfalls. Copies of Jeff’s books, including including “Hiking the Endless Mountains,” “Backpacking Pennsylvania,” and “Paddling Pennsylvania” will be for sale after the presentation, proceeds to support the Dietrich Theater. Ever-changing Light: Recent Landscape Paintings by Collier B. Parker, March 22 – May 3, Marywood University, Suraci Gallery. Exhibit features landscapes painted on site locally along the Lackawanna River in Scranton and abroad in Tuscany, Italy, capturing the ever-changing effects of light, color, and atmosphere. Artist reception will be held March 22, 6-8 p.m. Regular hours: Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1 – 4 p.m.
