Abington Heights Odyssey of the Mind Teams had a competition day for the Odyssey of the Mind State Finals, held April 18 in Williamsport. The top teams from across the state met for a day of fun and challenges. The first and second place teams earned the right to advance to World Finals on May 27 to May 31 at Iowa State University, Ames IA. Odyssey of the Mind is funded by the Abington Heights Educational Improvement Organization. The following Abington Heights teams placed at the Odyssey of the Mind State Finals:
FIRST PLACE: Abington Heights Middle School Team A: Shock Waves (Structure) Div I: Kevin Albright, Brendan Conahan, Joey Fazio, Grace Hambrose, Sam Jubon, Marissa Lewis and Daniel Neary, coached by Christine Neary and Rose Fazio.
SECOND PLACE: Abington Heights Middle School Team A: Earth Trek (Vehicle) Div II Celine Brunetti, Evan Eckersley, Christopher Ferrario, Patrick Lange, Jacob Ross and Taylor Ross, coached by Amy Lange and Terese Brunetti.

Eighty Odyssey of the Mind teams from around the region competed at the Pocono Mountain West High School. Abington Heights entered the competition with 19 teams comprised of students from grades kindergarten through 12. Abington Heights Odyssey of the Mind Teams are funded in large part by the Abington Heights Educational Improvement Organization ( ).
