Under the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), the following Surplus foods will be available for distribution at 9 a.m. at the Clarks Summit Methodist Church, Morgan Highway on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Quantities are limited. Items expected to be available are: frozen cherries, frozen chicken, 1 percent milk, canned beef, boxed dry milk, 2 pound block cheese, canned grape juice and canned mixed vegetables.
The distribution is limited to the residents of Lackawanna County only.
TEFAP is operated in accordance with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) policy, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs.)
Eligibility to receive this surplus food is based upon the income guidelines listed- household size of one person, annual income $16,245; two, $21,855; three, $27,465; four, $33,075; five, $38,685; six, $44,295; seven, $49,905; eight, $55.515, add $5,160 for each household member after eight.
