SCRANTON — Actors Circle will present “Sensory Overload,” three short plays offering suspense, comedy, and chills, on Nov. 5 through 8 and 12 through 15 at Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Directed by Cathy Rist Strauch, the show features the suspenseful play “Sorry, Wrong Number” by Lucille Fletcher, in which an invalid woman overhears a murder plot and attempts to reach someone over the phone to save the intended victim. The trouble is, she doesn’t know who the victim is, nor who the suspects are.
In “The Boundary,” a comedy by Tom Stoppard and Clive Exton, a man discovers his office is ransacked and deals with the implications of who did it.
“The War of the Worlds,” a 1938 radio play by Howard E. Kochby based on the book by H.G. Wells, completes the show.
Members of the cast include Janet Loewe, Tom Malone, David Hunisch, Linda C. Griffiths, John McInerney, Patricia Purcell, Betsy Seaforth, Nan O. Wandalowski, TJ Zale, Bernard Ott, Sid Michaels, Jeff Ginsberg and Art Walsh. Lou Bisignani is assisting with set, Bob Spalletta is lighting designer, Kate McLane is stage manager and Jacob Conrad is sound and light board operator.
Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors and $8 for students. Thursday, Nov. 5 tickets are discounted at $8 for general admission and seniors and $6 for students. For all reservations, call 570-342-9707.
