WAVERLY — The smell of evergreen and the sounds of lively chatter filled the room as guests clipped, trimmed, bunched and tied branches together to create decorative wreathes at the Waverly Community House (Comm). The annual Wreath Making Workshop was hosted Dec. 4 by Abby Peck, of Waverly, whose mother Rosamond Peck and grandmother Mary Reifsnyder began the tradition. Although she couldn’t say exactly when the workshop was conceived, Peck said it goes at least as far back as the 1950s. Crafters were asked to make at least one wreath with which to decorate the exterior of the Comm and another to take home.
