SCRANTON — Dr. Emil DiIorio, chief executive officer of Coordinated Health, will be the keynote speaker at an event held by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, along with the Greater Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton Chambers of Commerce, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Coordinated Health.

DiIorio will present “The Affordable Care Act and the Empowered Employer: How Organizations Can Retake Control of Their Healthcare Costs While Improving the Quality of Care and Health of Their Employees,” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at PNC Field.

A free business card exchange in the Mohegan Sun Club will follow Dr. DiIorio’s presentation.

DiIorio received a Bachelor of Engineering from New York University and went on to work as a systems engineer at Grumman Aerospace Corporation. While working with the Apollo Space Program, he learned about the effect of lift-off on the human body and developed an interest in human anatomy.

Following his passion for medical innovation and advancement, he moved to Belgium and earned a Master of Science in anatomy from the University of Ghent. He returned to the United States to complete his Doctor of Medicine degree at Boston University. Dr. DiIorio completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Lahey Clinic at Boston University and founded Coordinated Health in the Lehigh Valley in 1988.
