DICKSON CITY — Dickson City Boy Scout Troop 21 Life Scout Tim Walsh started his Eagle Project at one of his favorite summer time camps, Pocono Mountain Bible Conference (PMBC), Clifton Township.
Inviting other Scouts from local troops and even from New York, the first two days proved to be promising in the work completed.
A Dalton and Olyphant resident, Walsh is rebuilding the mini golf course at the camp. Replacing greens, scraping and painting the rails and recreating a new course with new obstacles is just the beginning. The obstacles are obtained, the scraping of paint, planting many new flowers and placing of new mulch were done on the first two days of the project. Walsh plans the have the course ready for the first day of camp on June 28.
Boys from Troop and Pack 57 arrived on Friday to lend a hand. The boys from Johnson City, N.Y. Troop 110 arrived Friday night and took part on Saturday, working from breakfast to dinner. The boys from Troop 21 will help during the upcoming week.
Walsh attends the Wyoming Seminary Lower School. He holds the position of Den Chief and Assistant Patrol Leader in his Troop.
Summer enrollment is currently open for Troop 21. Any boy interested can visit the Troop at 7 p.m. any Thursday at the LaSalle Academy, Dickson City campus. Upon registering, the boys can participate in all summer activities, including a camping trip each month and camp at Goose Pond Scout Reservation.
