DICKSON CITY — Boy Scout Troop 21 Life Scout Tim Walsh, of Olyphant and Dalton, spent some time with Cub Scout Pack 21 during its recent week of camping at Camp Acahela. Volunteering at Goose Pond for Parent Pal events and spending years camping as both a Cub and a Boy Scout, Walsh has plenty of experience around the campground.
As a leader with the pack, Walsh stayed with the Cubs during events helping them learn Scout skills. Mentoring the boys is part of the job of a Den Chief. Redirecting and encouraging are both aspects of his responsibilities. Spending the week with the Cubs, Walsh was able to help the boys with all of their activities and even joined in the Polar Bear Plunge in the early morning hours.
With Walsh’s den now graduated to the rank of Webelos 1, Walsh will stay with the boys while they transition to Webelos 2 and then graduation to Boy Scouts.
