CLARKS SUMMIT — Did you know opossum mothers carry their young in pouches on their bellies like kangaroos? Or that the muscles a crocodile uses to close its mouth are very strong, yet those to open its mouth are weak? How about the fact that the term “ferret away” comes from a ferret’s tendency to take objects and store them in secret hiding places?

Visitors at the Abington Community Library on Thursday, July 30 learned all of this and more during a ZooMobile presentation from the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park. Participants were also able to pet various animals, including as a tortoise, crocodile, ferret and hedgehog.
