The Waverly Community House will host its annual summertime fundraiser, Cocktails for the Courts, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, rain or shine. The fundraiser was originally conceived to raise money for the improvement and maintenance of the tennis courts. Proceeds from this years events will benefit all community recreation programs at the Waverly Community House. This years theme is Farm to Table. Signature cocktails will be served by State Street Grill, along with wine and beer. Hors doeuvres will be prepared by Beta Bread, Cuppa Cake Cafe, POSH, Terra Preta and Waverly Deli. Music is provided by the Von Storch Trio. Cocktails for the Courts is chaired by Amy Kazmierski and Nancy Brown, and sponsored by Classic Properties with media support from Lamar Advertising. The cost is $25 at the gate or advance purchase in the Comm office and online at waverlycomm.org. Guests must be 21 or older to attend.
