The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children offers ASL courses to the community

S. ABINGTON TWP. — The Scranton School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children will offer American Sign Language (ASL) courses to help community members develop basic finger spelling, vocabulary and grammar skills.

ASL 1 and ASL 2 courses will be offered. Assessments can be scheduled the first day of class to determine level of skill. Evaluations will be conducted throughout the session to assist participants in monitoring progress.

The six-week course will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 16 through Oct. 21, at the S. Abington Twp. campus, 537 Venard Road. Fee for the courses is $65 and is due when registration is submitted.
