Violation: The interior surface of the microwave oven (customer service), a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. The microwave was cleaned during this inspection.

Six East Restaurant, 1611 Scranton Carbondale Highway, Dickson City, Sept 17. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Clean dish racks observed stored on the floor in ware-wash area.

Violation: Food facility is using an approved non-public water system, but does not have current laboratory testing results for water potability. Violation: Non-food contact surfaces (cooling unit vents above shelving in produce area) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. Non-food contact surfaces (fan guards in meat room and dairy walk-in cooler) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. Floor underneath pet food and flour/sugar shelving on retail floor has an accumulation of dust and old food debris.

Adams Office, Inc. 309 Second Avenue, Jessup, Sept. 17. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violation: Fan guards in walk-in coolers have an accumulation of static dust.

Domenick’s Pizza, 34 South Main Street, Carbondale, Sept 17. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Employee toilet room does not have a self-closing door. Wall surface area behind/above the pizza oven in the food facility is dusty, and in need of cleaning.

Great Wall, 42 North Main Street, Carbondale, Sept. 17. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Cooked brown rice, was not cooled from 135°F to 70°F in 2 hours and/or from 135°F to 41°F within 6 hours, after preparation. Observed cooked brown rice 86°F product center left over night in the cooking equipment. Person in charge stated he forgot the product was left in cooker, product voluntarily discarded and denatured due to time temperature abuse. Observed plastic containers being used in daily food prep activities, which are scored cracked repaired with wire and not durable under this usage condition Plastic utensils used for cooking are deformed and misshapen from heat, and are not durable under normal use in the food facility. Observed air conditioner condensation waste water dispensed in the vegetable sink. Waste line was removed and the sink was cleaned and sanitized for compliance. Condensation water from the food facility air conditioning unit is not being disposed of properly. Owner installed a drain line into the vegetable prep sink. Corrected on site.

Violations: The food facility does not have the original certificate for the certified food employee posted in public view. Hood filters have an accumulation of grease.Non-food contact surfaces (fan guards and back wall of bain marie #1) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust and old food debris. Non-food contact surfaces (fan guards in walk-in cooler #2) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dust. Non-food contact surfaces (sides of fryer/grill) not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of grease. Ceiling in ware-wash area observed with buckled paint.

Jessup Pizza, 1019 Constitution Avenue, Jessup, Sept. 17. Regular inspection; out of compliance. Violations: The food facility does not maintain Food Employee Certification records as required. An open employee’s beverage container was observed in prep area, a food preparation area. Food employees observed in prep area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as nets or hats. Observed containers of food stored directly on the floor in walk-in cooler area, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. Food Employee is not using available sanitizer test strips or test kit to determine sanitizer concentration.Can opener had old dried food residue on the blade observed pizza prep refrigerator, with an accumulation of old food residue, debris on non-food contact surfaces. Fan guards in refrigerator have build up of static dust. Observed no chemical sanitizer being used on equipment and utensils after washing and rinsing them, and prior to use. Reviewed proper cleaning procedure with Person in charge. Outdoor storage area for waste is located outside of facility and is creating a potential insect or rodent hazard for the food facility.

New Oriental Express, 201 North Main Street, Old Forge, Sept. 17. Regular inspection; in compliance. Violations: Food containers observed without handles in direct contact with bulk food ingredients.Observed wiping cloths in extremely unclean condition in prep area. Single use plastic bags being re-used multiple times. Wire shelving in the walk-in cooler was observed to have old food residue and dust accumulation and was not clean to sight and touch The hand-wash sink in the prep area was blocked and not accessible at all times for employee use.

The cutter was cleaned during this inspection.
