CLARKS SUMMIT — Newton Ransom Elementary School staff members recently participated in “Teal Toes,” an ovarian cancer awareness program, honoring September being Ovarian Cancer Month. Staff member Mary Ann Menichiello, an ovarian cancer survivor, spearheaded the event.

Staff members were asked to paint their toes teal, the ribbon color of ovarian cancer, referred to as the “silent killer.” Symptoms and information regarding this disease were shared among staff along with a “Teal Treat” drawing held on Sept. 30.
